ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL


Any college’s outlook towards growth defines the student's development and entrepreneurship is one of the most potential fields to invest the energies of the enthusiast, who believe in self-dependence. With this idea, ShaheedRajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women established the Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Cell in college on 9th October 2015, inaugurated by the honorable Deputy Chief Minister, Govt. of NCT Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia. ED cell wishes to inculcate and enrich the entrepreneurial environment in and around college by creating an easily accessible and exhaustive set of resources for the young entrepreneurs, which includes the students, the budding professionals and mentors.

The Ed cell encompasses student's involvement in various ideologies of entrepreneurship, followed by variety of events contributing in the enriching experience. We conduct myriads of activities throughout the year, with the involvement of students from all the colleges in the University. With all the hard work we put on throughout the year, we to bring prestige to the college with our participation in various challenges and securing righteous positions, proving that women can do anything, if they set their mind to it.

We at ED cell, through networking student enterprises from campus to companies, are seeding funds and investors works on transforming the newly proposed ideas into successful start-ups. Workshops and inter college competitions are organized in association with national professionals and eminent personalities to inspire and invoke the giant potential within the students & to create awareness and motivate students about entrepreneurship.

ED cell aims at the empowerment of student in the field of entrepreneurship by introducing them the concepts of this unique business world and making the young minds capable of taking risks, ultimately over-powering their fears and winning the challenges of life.The cell regularly keeps a check on all the schemes introduced by Government of India to enhance Women Entrepreneurship.

NATIONAL INNOVATION AND STARTUP POLICY


Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in year 2019 has released a guiding framework for higher education institutions (HEIs). NISP aims at creating facilities within the institutions for development of pre-incubation and incubation facilities within the institute. Institutes may develop their own comprehensive guidelinesbased on the following broad guideline by MHRD.

  • The framework of the policy is outlined to promote entrepreneurial activities in the institute.
  • The pre-incubation/ incubation facility should be accessible to 24x7 to students, staff and faculty of all disciplines and departments.
  • Student entrepreneurs may earn academic credits for entrepreneurial efforts.
  • Faculty and staff may be permissible to take off for a year semester/ year as sabbatical/ unpaid leave/ casual leave/ earned leave for working on start ups and come back.
  • HEIs should create innovation pipeline and pathways for entrepreneurs at institute level.
  • Pedagogy and learning interventions for entrepreneurship development.

TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS INCUBATOR


College has been awarded the approval to have Technology Business Incubator (TBI) supported by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) -DI, New Delhi (Feb, 2018 ). The mission of incubator is to stimulate the establishment & growth of technology based startups. The proposed TBI includes space, shared use of lab equipments, direct business assistance, mentoring, networking to capital & other technical resources. By fulfilling this mission, the TBI would contribute to job creation & generate revenue to run the incubator without support.

State level B plan competition

The ED cell of College advertised the state level competition of B- plan to short-list the best ideas which would be nurtured in college TBI with the assistance of MSME.

The B-Plan competition was organized by SRCASW on 23 rd April in college premises in which 14 teams from different colleges of Delhi and other universities participated. The event was judged by Mr A.K. Ojha, Assistant Director, MSME and Dr. S. Lakshmi Devi founder Principal, college and Director, CECOP. The first prize was bagged by B-Plan (Mushroom Sauce ) of Rajguru College. Second plan ( Zorgo) by Shyamlal College and third prize ( Healing touch) by Vivekananda College. Besides this ten B-Plans are shortlisted to be forwarded to MSME after the necessary formalities. These ideas ,if approved by MSME, would be developed in the TBI of college and would be funded by MSME (After the revision of guidelines).

National Level B-plan Competition

A national level B-plan competition is planned to be organized on Feb 21, 2019 at SRCASW (Plsee the poster for details). The aim of this event is to support the innovative ideas through MSME for turning them to successful enterprise with the creation of job providers.

Ministry of Education (previously known as Ministry of Human Resource Development has established "MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC)" to systematically and comprehensively nourish the intellect of innovation among the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

MIC has come up with the idea of creation of 'Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) across selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women is one the selected HEIs.

We IIC of SRCASW aim at creating an integrated ecosystem for our students and faculties which stimulates an environment of innovation among them. We conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities, workshops, and seminars prescribed by MIC. Apart from that we organize various Hackathon, B-plan competition and many more activities to inculcate the habit of creation and innovation among youth.

We also provide mentorship and support to creative minds starting from idea generation to pre-incubation, incubation and graduating from the incubator as successful start-ups.
