DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS

The Department of Statistics was established in the year 2017. The Department offers a four- year degree programme
B.Sc. (H) Statistics . This program provides in-depth knowledge of basic to advanced Statistics.

The students have many avenues for higher education after completing this program such as M.Sc. (Statistics/Business Statistics/Data Science/Mathematics/Operation Research/Financial Statistics), M.C.A., M.B.A. etc. Students can have several carrier opportunities at the completion of this program.

The Department actively organizes seminars, webinars, workshops, and training programs for students to streamline with the skills based new developments and recent trends in Statistics. The Department also promotes value-based education by supporting students to involve in community services as a social responsibility.

The Department has its student society named “Parastika”. This society along with the faculties annually organizes various technical and non-technical activities along with the technical fest “TRAP”. Student society brings out a biannual magazine “Tathya” for giving insight into the latest technologies, research and development in the field of statistics.

The Department also offers institute internship opportunities for the students motivated toward research in statistics.

The Department of Statistics has two well equipped computer labs namely

  • Maths Lab 1
  • Maths Lab 2

At present the lab is being shared with Department of Mathematics.

Internet facilities for Staff & Students: All the system has internet facility. They are available for both staff and students to access web.
