Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women, a constituent college under University of Delhi and funded by Govt. of NCT of Delhi, was established in the year 1989. The College offers undergraduate programmes namely B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Food Technology, Instrumentation, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Statistics, Bachelor of Business Administration (FIA), Bachelor of Management Studies and B.A. (Hons.) Psychology. These programmes provide the platform where the students are equipped with essential and practical knowledge to face the challenging positions worldwide country.
The college has well-qualified and competent faculty. An important aspect of teaching process is the ability to learn, unlearn and relearn. The teaching philosophy in the college is that the difference between the teacher and the taught has to be dissolved as the teacher and the taught are part of one process. The college has efficient support staff responsible for the smooth functioning of various laboratories and administrative work in the college.
The college has about 1700 students at present hailing from different parts of India and Abroad. The college gives its students opportunity to excel in sports and co-curricular activities as well. There are various societies in the college like Mukhauta (Dramatics Society), Aaharyaa (Dance Society), Philyra (Music Society), Elvira (Fine arts Society), Shuffle Shots (Photography club), Glamfire (Fashion Society), and Inklings (Literary Society), Ehsaas, Mark Haven, Glotrotters, Girlup Nayab, Youth Parliament, Equilibrium, Rakam. There are students clubs like Robotics Club, Movie Club, Pravridhi Eco Club, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Club, Developer Student Club to enhance their skills for career opportunities.
Besides regular programmes college organises Conferences, Workshops and Seminars on various relevant fields. The college in collaboration with CISCO runs a CNAP Networking Academy programme and prepares the students for CCNA industry certification. The college also has School of Open Learning (SOL) study centre and Indira Gandhi Open National University (IGNOU) for Post-Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking (PGDLAN).
