Menstrual Cafe Rajguru is a campus ambassador program which is meant for students wherein they engage in dialogue and activities with the aim to dismantle stigma and generate awareness around Menstrual Health and Hygiene, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Mental Health. The initiative is aimed at changing the lens with which menstruation is viewed in Indian society. It was initiated by the NGO named Sachhi Saheli.
The concept of a café in the current culture is replicated in the Menstrual Café where free-flowing yet pertinent conversations can take place around topics such as menstruation, gender, mental health and more. Our vision is to create a world where menstruation holds no one back.
We hold regular sharing circles and informative live sessions on important topics with experts. We had national cyber security expert Mr. Rakshit Tandon to speak on the topic Online Sexual Harassment. We have also been able to conduct a 15 day long annual fest named Avshata, wherein we organized four competitions. We have organised many interactive live sessions on topics such as PCOS, Informed Choice of Menstrual Products, Mental Health and Cervical Cancer with experts. We participated in the red dot campaign #Abpatachalnedo on the occasion of Menstrual Health and Awareness Day. Installation of pad vending machine on our campus has also been one of our important initiatives.
Activities
