With the current mission of the Government of India to make 240 million people
digitally literate, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women runs a
programme “Digital Empowerment for Homemakers (DEH)” which was started in
January 2017. It is an initiative of Department of Computer Science and Sakhi Saheli,
an active NGO working for women welfare and empowerment in Vasundhara
Enclave. The objectives of this initiative are to digitally literate non working women
of all age groups and enable them to acquire basic ICT skills. Through this specially
designed digital literacy programme, the participants will be able to discover the
multitude of opportunities on the digital platform as well as it will open up the
possibilities for making them independent in many ways.
It is a 12 week programme with 5 modules including basics of computer science, MS
Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point and Microsoft Excel), Internet basics,
usage of e-mail and e-payment services.
